In dance steps....

DH and I like watching these dance shows. Yeah, we're "those" people!

So anyway - the other day, this piece came on. It was a tribute to breast cancer, and was beautifully executed. When the piece got over, I quietly reached out for a tissue to wipe my tears. I had such a huge lump in my throat that I couldn't speak. I turned to look at DH, and I saw him reaching out for a tissue as well. He too had tears in his eyes.

When we finally spoke, we realized that we had both seen the piece as being very fitting for a couple fighting IF too. The struggles, the despair, the anger - it all comes out so beautifully! The girl seems to be helpless, turning to the man for support, trusting him, wanting him to make her pain go away. The man tries to lift the girl up out of her (their) sorrows as much as he can. When he is alone, he struggles too, but becomes strong for the girl when he is with her.

There is so much sadness, anger, helplessness in this piece. But at the same time, so much dependency on each other in the piece as well.

To me - this is a very true reflection of our life.

Nikki!
Thanks for alerting me to my blogroll gaff...it was totally an accident! I promise..I was moving people left and right and I thought "did I just delete someone?" and hadn't figured it out yet. You're back!
And yes, a beautiful tribute dance, for cancer or IF.

This is my favorite show! We too teared up during this dance. I didn't make the IF connection until I read your post, but yes, you are totally right.

Nikki - we are "those" people too. I love SYTYCD! I saw that piece and was also moved to tears. I also saw the significance of that dance with IF and one of my closest friends was diagnosed with breast cancer this week, so it was even more fitting! Thank you for posting the video so that even more people can watch it and be as moved by it as we were!

I saw this episode, too. I had fast forwarded and didn't know it was a breast cancer tribute, but I knew I felt unusually moved...and I knew my emotional reaction was due to my own IF because when I see something touching these days...it is like "extra" touching, you know? It was a beautiful dance.

MY DH, on the other hand, laughed at all the judges crying. Not in a mean way, just was like what's up with them? To his credit, he had missed the dance so I rewound and played for him. :)

Such a touching tribute! And, like you, it instantly made me think of the IF struggle.

*sigh*

(I've given your blog an award! Stop by my blog to check it out!)
