Patchy, foggy, cloudy

I started my E2 patches today. This time I have the "dot", so it's a much smaller sticker, and I hope it will be easier to deal with than the ones I had used for my FET that got canceled in 2007. The hardest part about those was removing the stickers. My skin was not happy at being ripped at again and again, and by the time I had to increase the number of patches that were being administered at the same time, I had run out of room on my tummy, and had to use areas that were used earlier. Also need room for the lupron shots! I was happy this morning to see a smaller sticker! (And I have more room on my tummy now than I did in 2007 - all the extra weight that I'm carrying around seems to be serving SOME purpose finally!)

My brain feels sort of fogged out. I can tell that I'm not being as lucid and clear in my head as I usually am. (That may explain my infrequent posting {by my usual blogging standards}).
I know Lu.pron does that to people - the loopy foggy lup.ron brain has been talked about by many a blogger!

So in my foggy, cotton-wool state of mind, I did what my clear head was not letting me do. I sent out my resume to a couple of companies. I decided that I need to be prepared to move on, and obviously with the economy being the way it is, I may need more time to find a job. So I thought it would help to send out my resume and see what response I get. If these companies start jumping up and down in excitement asking me to join them (Yeah right! Who am I kidding?), then it's a decision we'll make depending on what happens over the next few weeks.

The more likely outcome is probably going to be a lukewarm one. There's hardly anyone hiring out there. So we'll see. I think I needed to send the feelers out, so I know.

On another note - my sharps container is filling up. There's almost no room in it any more and I still have over 2 weeks of Lu.pron syringes to dispose. It's the large container, so just looking at it reminds me of how long and hard this journey has been. Last night as I was throwing away my syringe after my Lup.ron shot, I was joking with DH, saying "If our child EVER throws a tantrum, or EVER whines or complains about anything unnecessary, I'm going to show him/her this container, and say, I didn't flinch while sticking all those syringes into my body for you. You have basically signed away all your rights to whine in front of me!"

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh your poor belly. shots and patches. I hope you get clear headed again.

I hate those big boxes of needles. Where will you dump them?

You can do your Lupron shots in your upper thigh area. I've always done them there and never had any problems! And also, try using a bit of baby oil to help remove the patches. :)

Thank you so, so much for your support the past few weeks. My brain's been quite foggy lately, too. I promise I'll be around more!

What I don't like about the Vivelle patches is the sticky residue it leaves behind (yeah, I could scrape it off but my skin will start to get tender then). As for the Lupron, thank goodness that those needles and the stim needles are so small, I never had an issue whatsoever.

As for the box of needles, transfer them to a large empty container of juice of some sort so you have more room 'cause I think you do need to keep them as a symbol to discourage future children whining. :)))

LOL, that is a good dicipline plan!! I hope you have luck with the search, if that's what you decide you definitely want. I know that around here many, many place are not even advertising because of the economy, so you never know.I hope and pray, though, that you get want you really want instead!

Oh I hated those patches too! I hope these smaller ones make things easier for you!
And I just dumped out all of my old super full sharps containers, what a mess.

The idea of saving shots to ward off future kiddie complaints is a good one! Funny.

Good luck with the job hunting and may you have lots of options.

Yay for starting your first patch! Last night, I had to put on two patches and I'm not looking forward to peeling them off on Saturday. lol I had to think strategically on where to put the patches, as I'm still on Lupron.

Ya know, you're probably going to think I'm crazy but I've kept every single one of my needles/syringes. I don't know why I do it - I just can't bear to throw them away. I guess I need something physical to remind me that I am doing *something*. I don't know. Anyway, so in my cabinets are 4 sharps containers and all the leftover Follistim Pens, Repronex and Menopur boxes. Oh and all the empty bottles of pills. I'm pathetic.

Anyway...Good luck on the job search and on the meds! :)

I don't miss pulling off the patches. My last one was Friday night. I always went faster because then it was over and done with. But I never was good about getting the residue off my stomach. I rotated through 4-5 sites (lower R, upper R, lower L, upper L, middle) and that helped me make sure I had enough distance between spots - but I had 3 patches every other night.

When I did the lupron and the patches, I did lupron in my upper thighs. It bruised there, but it kept my stomach free.

Can you empty your sharps at a pharmacy or something?

Thinking about you...
